Returning to T In The Park for Smart Crew Management and Payment Services

arctic-monkeys-at-t-in-the-park-2014-1405335662-view-0We returned to T In The Park, the jewel in Scotland’s festival crown, to once again deliver a smart accreditation and catering solution for the event’s crew of over 6000.

We provided a bespoke staff accreditation system that gave the organisers a simple and efficient  solution to issue all of their staff with the correct passes for the duration of the event.

We also provided the festival with a crew catering e-voucher system. Using smart barcode wristbands, the festival was able to allocate unique electronic meal vouchers to every crew member and monitor redemption. As well as eliminating misuse of meal vouchers, this system helped to reduce food wastage to a minimum, reduced operational costs and increased efficiency.

Separately, we were also contracted by the festival’s principle bar operator Central Catering to provide managed fast-card payment terminals in all the main public bars. A valuable step towards going cashless, this allowed people to use their credit and debit cards, with chip & pin or contactless. The system used internet connectivity to enable fast, continuous service with transaction speeds of around 2 seconds achieved – much faster than you get in the high street. It also provided the bar operator with real-time visibility on transactions.

Around 85,000 people attended T In The Park this year, which marked its 21st edition and its last year at the Balado site.

Over 200 artists performed over the 3 days, including Biffy Clyro, Paolo Nutini, Calvin Harris, Chvrches, Franz Ferdinand, Twin Atlantic, Twilight Sad and Teen Canteen.

Next year sees the festival move to its new site of Stratallan.
