Enabling Cornbury to be the UK’s first independent festival to accept contactless payments

SAM_0418We are very proud to have have enabled Cornbury to become the UK’s first independent festival to make the transition to cashless. Working with Central Catering Services, Global Payments and EtherLive, we delivered a fully managed card payment acceptance system for the bars, allowing customers to celebrate the Oxfordshire festival’s glorious tenth birthday without the worry of carrying cash.

The project included the provision of IP-based card payment terminals accepting chip + PIN, swipe and contactless payments from VISA and MasterCard credit and debit cards, a real-time transactional and management interface for the bar operator and event management, showing transactions by terminal and location as they happen, plus on-site operational training and support.

The IVS payment solution is powered by Global Payments, a Tier-One acquirer, and delivered in conjunction with our Payment Service Provider partners TS3 Services Ltd., a PCI-DSS certified transaction processing provider connected to all the major UK acquirers.

The combination of these partners enables us to offer the fastest, most reliable solution on the market today, with features specifically designed for this market and the lowest possible transaction rates.

The solution is backed by MasterCard Europe as part of their effort to support the spread of electronic payments into the Festivals and events market.

This follows our delivery of the same service in conjunction with Central Catering at the Isle Of Wight Festival in June and we will be taking it to Scotland’s T In The Park this weekend and both legs of V Festival in August.
